chest pain / heart burn for a week, EKGs done

I had a horrible chest pain / heartburn  since sunday of last week. I went to the ER twice to see what it is because i thought i am having a heart attack.
I had 2 EKGS done and both foun that i have an Incomplete right bundle branch block but the 2 Cardiologists said it is completely normal for someone my age. (17)

Today I am going to get blood tests done.

Every evening I am getting panic attacks when i read about heart diseases.

I am fearful that I could have something like pulmanory embolism,  but wouldnt an EKG detect it?
I am  very anxious about what this pain could mean :(
What could it be?

Did they not do a chest xray?  Have you tried antacids with no relief?  I would push the doctor for further testing to get to the bottom of things.  Try to not worry about heart disease until you sort out what is going on. It could very well be stomach related.  Best of luck getting to the bottom of things. Take care.

They did not do an x-ray, no.
I tried antacids and did not really get any results.

The pain is slowly subsiding now, but i still feel it a bit.

These are the symptoms of pulmonary embolism:

Fainting.
Sweating.
Coughing up blood.
Disabling chest pain with every breath. Note: The word is 'disabling.'  You can't live a normal life, because you have too much pain and too little oxygen to do so.

These are very dramatic symptoms.  How many of them do you have?  You mention only some chest pain (which has lots of causes.  If you had had the symptoms of PE, yes, the doctors would have caught it.

As to incomplete bundle branch block, it is indeed pretty common in young people. It usually does not cause any pain or any other symptoms.

So you should believe your 2 (two!) cardiologists.  They really do know specialized stuff that takes years to master.

What did they suggest as a cause for your pain?

None suggested anything as they only examined the EKGs.
The ER MD thought it is Reflux with what I described but i am sure it is not as antacid are not helping and i feel better than I lay down flat.

The other doctor though it could be a muscle strain ETC.

Today the pain is mild compared to the pains before.
By the way, would a Pulmanory Embolism show on EKG?
In the case of a very severe case of PE, there can be a particular sign on EKG, but in general, the EKG is not useful as a diagnostic tool for this condition.

The patient's condition, vital signs, and history guide the doctors' investigation.  As I mentioned, there are symptoms that strongly point to PE, and when those are present, it's hard to miss.

A friend of mine nearly died of one of these, but survived with weeks of intensive medical care.

Apparently, you had no symptoms like those she experienced.

It is incredibly unlikely that you have a PE situation.  Pulmonary embolism symptoms DO NOT come and go.
Alright. You just took a lot of fear off my heart.
I was scared about maybe having a PE, but my breathing is normal, i do not feel extreme pain when i breathe.
MY chest pain usually is mild but becomes a bit more extreme sometimes. I think my anxiety just makes it worse.

I am wondering what it could be though. As i had it for a week already. Today it was a bit better than before though.
I think you need a very good, very discerning primary care physician.

You are young--and thus *extremely* unlikely to have ANY kind of heart or circulatory problems.  However, around this age, we begin to realize that we are mortal.  Our youth does not continue forever, and we start to be aware of death.  Naturally, we don't want that!  But it's going to happen sooner or later, isn't it?

Some of us are more sensitive to this issue than others.  For some, anxiety overtakes our lives and ruins our enjoyment of our time on earth.

If you think you might possibly fall into this category, do yourself a favor and seek the advice of a good psychiatrist.  With therapy and possibly a bit of medication, even the 'worried well' can have a marvelous life.
Thank you man. I am very anxious and anxiety makes me even more afraid.

I am going to consult a cardiologist for an echocardiogram as that woul make me a lot less scared of what is happening with my chest.
