Heart Issues with Pregnancy

Hi All.  Im new to this forum and its great to see people with similar issues.  Here's my story, would love to know if anyone had a similar story or insights:  (Im 39, 130Lb and used to run 3 times a week)

My heart issues started in January.  I started noticing fast heart rate at work at rest.  At Dr's office it was recorded at 112.  I did a holter and EKG, all was OK.  I felt reassured,  just had an odd spat of Tachycardia for next couple of months, got back to my running.

In April I got pregnant and boy did life get worse.. At 6 weeks, I ended up in the ER with 140 BPM, was released told I had Sinus Tachy, possibly related to hormones. By May I had being diagnosed with an ectopic pregnancy which had to be terminated, with some heavy duty drugs (MTX), since then I have been having weekly monitoring until my hormones go back to normal.. I still have a HCG count of 16, for those who are familiar.  All through this time, since April I have had worsening Tachycardia, chest pressure, dizziness and fatigue.  I have seen a cardiologist who thinks I need to wait until all these hormones go to normal .. I did have a normal echo and he thinks the fact my trip to ER showed a regular beat at 140 was telling (ie no unusual rhythm just fast)  He didnt want to do any more tests, but I have pushed to get a stress test and another holter next week.  As Im feeling way worse than I did in January..

If anyone has experience of Heart issues stemming from pregnancy, i would love to hear from you.

I had issues with my heart during pregnancy but I have had SVT since my first run when I was 12 so I wasn't surprised. My heart rate raised considerably for the duration of my pregnancy, I had several SVT episodes during pregnancy,  and I had SVT episodes a few times the first week after giving birth. Before getting pregnant, my cardiologist told me that there was a possibility that my SVT would act up during pregnancy. I'm not sure that this is helpful to you since our situations are different but I know pregnancy can do strange, strange things to our bodies!! Hope you are feeling better really soon!
