That is the problem with these skips/pauses/flutters.  We get them checked out and are told our heart is structurally normal, and then sometime down the road we get a "new" sensation.  We think, well the doctor hasn't seen this one on the ekg, or this feels so different.  What happens...anxiety builds up and we get more.  It is a vicious cycle for sure.  I just wish there weren't so many different feelings associated with the skips.  Sometimes I get a long flutter (like a buttterfly flapping its wings), sometimes I get a hard bang in my chest, then there is the long pause that usually starts up the svt drama and sometimes the feeling is deep in my stomach that just takes my breath.  All from the same thing..pvc's and pac's.  It ***** for sure.
Good luck

Hello...

Very likely to be due to anxiety if you know you already suffer from it. Good luck with your appt.

I do have anxiety. I had an ekg, and blood test back in May for fast heart beat. They were all good(not to say they still are) I think it may be do to my anxiety or so im hoping. I will schedule an appt. Thanks for the reply

Hello...

Many times the flutters we experience are the result of a premature beat. It can be cause by a premature atrial contraction (PAC) or a premature ventricular contraction (PVC) I honestly can't tell you for sure where your flutters were coming from. In order to know the origin of these, they have to be seen on an EKG or a rhythm strip.

There are many things that can cause these "flutters" some of these are : nicotine, caffeine, alcohol, cold medications containing Pseudoephederine, any typ of stimulants, inbalance of electrolytes (especially Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium) dehydration, stress, anxiety etc.

It might be a good idea to have schedule an appt with your Dr to have this evaluated. If your heart is in good shape, free of defect or disease...I'm sure you will be fine. You may want to see if you can relate these symptoms to something that you have eaten or some kind of activity that you're doing.

Good luck to you:)
