Heart skips beats after feeling too much pain

Hi. Why is it that every time I feel a lot of pain somewhere in my body, such as when I stub my leg on my bed, my heart starts to flutter and skips beats, also resulting in shortened breathing. My dad and brother are known to have PVC. What is the relationship between feeling too much pain and your heart skipping beats?

Thanks.

Now...this one I'm pretty sure I have the ACTUAL answer to :-). When you stub your toe, or have a sharp cramp or suffer any type of trauma, your body releases a quick burst of adrenaline to increase heart rate, BP and respiration...it's the fight or flight response.  Those of us who are prone to feeling PVC's often feel more of them when there is an onslaught of adrenaline. That's why beta blockers work for most of us to some extent.  The beta blockers literally block the adrenaline receptors in the heart and keep your heart from speeding up (or at least from speading up as much as it normally would) due to adrenaline release.

So...the relationship between pain and PVC sensation is adrenaline.  Rest assured that nearly the entire population on earth has a PVC or two when they are in pain...you are unfortunate enough to be among the ones who FEEL it.

Take care.

It may be that you are taking a very fast breath and changing your breathing patterns when you hurt yourself.

It happens to me occasionally if I feel pain, I will take a quick deep breath.  It also happens sometimes when I yawn, etc.
