Anyone ever heard of this?

Hey guys I have recently check my heart rate with the veins in my neck and noticed the weirdest thing. Sometimes when I'm laying down (this only happens while laying down)  I'll check my heart rate and notice that it goes into my normal resting heart rate (Between 78 and 84 beats per minute), but I've recently noticed that the "thumps" feel different on my left side than my right side. While on the right side I'll get the usual one "thump" feeling in the center of my two fingers everytime my heart beats, on my left side the resulting beat feels more like if the vein was "slithering" through my fingers. The vein literaly moves underneath my two fingers almost as if dipping underneath the two fingers and coming back out the other side like an S motion around my fingers instead of the one thump pushing out in the center of the two fingers. I have been to the Doctor and had an ekg, blood tests, chest xray and everything came back good. I also don't suffer from dizziness, chest pain, nausea, or anyother symptom. It's as if one vein just want's to beat different than the other. Oh and both of my veins beat in a normal pattern and have a rhythm. There's no intervals or stops or flutters in the the beating. I'm going to ask my Doc about it next time I see him, but I was just wondering if anyone's veins out there move the way mine do?

Hey thanks. Yeah actually I was thinking the same thing too. Before when I didn't check my pulse, well like you said, there was no way to know if this has always been like this or not. And now that I do I notice all these so called "weird" things, but ultimatelly what I try to remember is that if I don't have any bad heart related symptoms than I shouldn't worry. Also ,just to be sure, I'll ask my Doc anyways. Thanks again though.

I have never heard of it. I suspect you are paying too much attention to your body. I do that too and find things that are wierd, but have learned to ignore things like that. It has probably been like that all of your life. It appears your heart is beating ok. I have flutters which are actually several skipped beats in a row. These can be captured on an event monitor so it is not the same thing you are experiencing. Go to your Doc and let him check you out for peace of mind, but I bet you are fine.

Actually another way to describe the beat is actually as if comparing my vein having a fluttering motion in the same way as a flag flutters in the wind. Hmmm.....now that I think about it....is this what it feels like when people say their heart flutters? I never really got that. Any help greatly appreciated.
