Hi I understand about the thyroid. I will have a blood test for it on Saturday. I had my stress test today and they said it was normal. That is good news but what is going on with my body?.. My blood pressure went 168/108 and the heart was pounding. I managed to stay the course. I came home and had to lay down. I slept for 2hrs. I slept all night so why did I need the nap after the test. I get so weak and tired. My heat monitor comes off today. I don't see the heart doctor until July 27th. I just want to feel better.
Most people have only one thyroid gland. It looks sort of like a butterfly with two wings or lobes joined by a somewhat narrower piece:

When you say you had 'one' removed, do you mean that one of the wings was taken out? If so, why was that done?
I don't know if you had read much about what the thyroid does, but here is some information that may give you more info about what is going on:

Hi & thanks for your info. I truly believe my thyroid is not functionally right. I had one removed several years ago. Right now they are looking at the heart. I passed out April 30th and its been down hill every since
I will be having a stress test Tuesday. Am wearing a heart monitor too. If I could just get my strength back, would be great. I will keep posting here to let you know how it goes. .
An elevated heart heart rate is one of the symptoms of hyperthyroidism. Hyperthyroidism is seen with low TSH and high free T4. That said, i have an elevated heart rate due to TSI thyroid antibodies with hypothyroid lab work. Thyroid disease can be complicated. :)
If you really want a good thyroid work up, blood tests will include TSH, free T3, free T4, and all the thyroid antibodies TPOAb, TgAb and TSI. Your free T4 is just one part of the puzzle and you haven't listed a measurement of reference range. There are other tests such as a RAI uptake or ultrasound. Do you have any other symptoms of thyroid disease whether it be hypo or hyper?
