There are actually different types of svt. I had avnrt. The signal would get caught in a loop around the avnode and my heart would beat around 230bpm. It would start suddenly and stop suddenly without any reason, well pvcs were a big trigger but it was not induced by exercise or exersion. There is another type named wpw that the signal gets caught around the outer part of the heart and the beat can be aound 150. It sounds like you may have had that type but your doctor should be the one to let you know what yours was. From what I understand wpw does have a higher incidence of returning. There are other types of svt as well the svt term really just meaning any fast heart rate that arises from the atria/upper chambers of the heart. The fact that your heart rate is a steady fast rate could indicate afib but you seem rather young for that since that is a problem that generally arises from heart disease. The times it happens out of no where is likely the reentry svt like wpw. The times when you feel worn out quickly from exersion may be that your heart is a bit tired from the svt episodes. My heart will sometimes get a bit erratic when I am having a bad bout of pvcs. In any event, though the problems you are experiencing are bothersome you are young and once you get this finally resolved you will likely go on to lead a long healthy life. In general from what I hear if a first ablation does not take the second one usually does the trick. In any event, please do go back to your cardiologist and get these new troubles diagnosed. Take care and feel better soon.
And it happens out of no where. But it also happens with exertion. Like at work I pull heavy pallets and after pulling one my heart goes crazy and I'm exhausted. Before my ablation I was working out and I was in shape. But I haven't been able to work out since the ablation because my heart feels like it is going to explode after just a fast walk. I'm very frustrated and tired of heart problems
I had supraventricular tachycardia. When I had that my heart would be regular between 60-70bpm and then it would start racing to 130-160bpm out of no where but I never blacked out or anything. I did get dizzy and light headed during this time. But now my heart rate is always between 108-130. So when it speeds up it is more intense, it pounds harder I get very dizzy and the blacking out I mentioned.
What type of svt did you have? A heart rate just over 100 isn't necessarily a classic svt but could be sinus tachycardia. Does your heart start beating fast all of a sudden or does it go up with exersion? The fact that you are getting dizzy and feeling as though you are blacking out warrents a return to the doctor. The main issue with ablating the young is you are still changing and your heart may have matured enough to allow the svt to come back. Definitely go back and see your cardiologist. Good luck and keep us posted on how you are doing.
