Is my heart rate too low?

Hi,
I am 20 years old. When I lay on my bed l for 10 min my heart rate drops to 44 bpm.
And my heart rate while I sleep last night dropped to 38 bpm.
I am quite active, but not sure if i am a 'well trained athlete' as all the websites say that it is normal for resting heart rate between 40/60 bpm.
I cycle about 10/14 hours a week last 3 weeks, while before just 6/8 hours of cycling of running.

So my question, is this too low, does other people have the same thing and is it normal?
And does the hours above make me a 'well trained athlete'?

Thnx for answers in advance.

You should bring this to the attention of your physician, and let him make the call.  Yes, it is very possible that a highly conditioned professional athlete could have a resting HR in the 40's.  But for the average "weekend warrior" runner, cyclist, or swimmer, I would think not.
