Kidney problems and arrhythmia?

I've had arrhythmias all my life, have had 3 ablations done and things are better but still wacky at times.

What I'm wondering is this: back in July I got sick with some mystery bug, fever spikes, loss of appetite, fatigue, light stools and dark urine. After a week it seemed to clear up. But since then I've still been having dark urine at times. I mean like diluted cherry coke or sometimes pink lemonade. Obviously something is wrong but I do have tests scheduled to find out. No pain or fever now.

Is there a connection between this odd kidney problem and increased tachycardia? I usually have tachy bursts a few times a week. But the past couple weeks I'm having several a day. Not the end of the world but not fun. I'm hoping they'll settle down once I get this kidney thing sorted out. Any one know if they're related?

Thanks. I'm not sure if I have an infection since I no longer have the spikes of fever like I had back in July. No pain upon urination or frequency of urination. I did notice a slight increase in BP lately though. I don't like that very much. I'm nervous about the tests, especially the prep but it's better than not knowing. Had plenty of tachy yesterday and we were having a very nice day.

Any kind of infection or problem inside your body can cause an increase in both palpitations and heart rate. If your kidneys are under stress it can cause an increase in both heart rate and blood pressure among other things.

Thanks all. I do have tests scheduled to have my kidneys checked and my bladder (not looking forward to that one). I'm well hydrated because I want to keep flushing my kidneys until I get checked. I have some concern about what's happening but not overly worried. After all, this has been going on since July. Actually I'm having more tachy at night which is a nuisance since I'd rather sleep. I doze off only to wake up with tachy popping in for a brief visit. Oh well, I should hear more in October when I see the urologist. Just have to hang in there.

I would definitely get the kidneys checked out.  It almost sounds like you may have some blood in it though it could be coming from the kidneys or bladder.  That said, if your body is stressed out from illness elsewhere in the body it is likely also stressing out the heart as the body sends resources to one area thus depleting them in another.  Maybe to try and fix what is going on your adrenaline is being triggered thus triggering your heart rhythm issues.  Though this is all conjecture on my part but I could definitely see a correlation between being sick and the heart being under more duress.  But do go get this kidney thing checked out as soon as possible not even because of the heart but because something indeed is still wrong.  Feel better soon.

So sorry to hear of your predicament. Yup, you may want to check your kidney to rule things out. Do you think the tachy bursts can be anxiety induced from your thoughts of your kidney problems? Do you feel better at night?
