PAC"S becoming A Fib

HI Everyone-

I am 42 yrs old and have high blood. Im not overweight but could probably stand to lose 5 or 10 lbs.  Anyway, I have spent years listening to the Drs say dont worry about the skipped heartbeats and then this past summer I experienced A Fib out of the blue with rapid ventricular response.  I am now on my normal high blood pressure meds but also take Metoprolol daily.  I have not had an episode for a few months but my first was a doozy.  12 hrs of A Fib.  Additionally, they now also say I have SVT.  That has never shown up before either. SO NOW whenever I feel a skip or racing I wonder if its A Fib or yet another progression into something horrible.  Ive lsot faith in the Drs and dont know what to do next.  Sure would love to hear from anyone experiencing anything similar.

My PAC's started 17 years ago and now they are picking up PVC's on the monitors. Back then, I would feel them every few months..now it's everyday. Let me say, they started with tachycardia...My HR was 130 for 3 days. Being young, I wasn't too worried, but they gave my atenolol to bring it down and I was fine. Then the rythyms started and have been to the ER on several occasions...DX- anxiety! I have now been on atenolol for 7 years. I have woke from my sleep with my heart completely flip-flopping and I know it was either a-fib or v-tach, definitely not just PVC's or PAC's. It's very frustrating but you're not alone...although it probably feels like that at times. I've asked my cardio if I need a defribillator (sp) implanted, and he just laughs and says no. Boy, it sure would give me peace of mind!

It does seem that once a person has electrical issues they have more than one. Dont lose hope. I am sure someone will respond soon that can relate to your particular situation. Sometimes people dont respond till evening. It all depends on work schedules and how busy they are. :)
