Chest pain at 20?

Hi my names Dan, Im a 20 year old male and in fairly good health. For the past year I have been having these chest pains and loss of breath. I constantly feel my heart and because it feels like its vibrating and skipping beats a lot witch feels like then it cause the small quick chest pains and pressure, feels like I cant keep my breathing up with my heart beat. When I sleep its like I cant get my heart rate low enough to be comfortable. When not active and sitting dizziness and light headiness happens at times. I went to the hospital once when the chest pains got bad and was told it was just stress but even when relaxed this seems to keep me on pins and needles. Does any one have the answer to this?

True chest pains in someone your age would be extrememly rare as chest pain is caused by narrowing of the arteries or from something like a Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy that was so advanced the heart walls no longer received any blood flow. Both of those heart problems, let's just say, you would be well aware of them. From what you have written, it sounds like you are having premature beats (which everyone has at one time or another). See a cardiologist if that makes you feel better.

I hope you can get a complete check-up by a medical doctor.  I general full physical with an electrocardiogram would be a good start.

Most heart problems come later in life than 20 years old, but that does not mean you do not have any heart problems.  Get it checked.
