pvc's are a benign arrhythmia, that is what my cardiologist told me. since you are a RN..can i ask you this,my blood pressure was measured at 211/118 manually and the nurse there told me that it is high. do you consider this reading bad?
I haven't been able to see a consistent pattern to it. I think people keep trying to attribute an outside source to the issue, which it may not be.
For the cold you had, did you notice a decrease in the activity while you were sick?
YZ1911: Yes, that is considered very high. If you have another reading like this, you should be taking BP medication. Your doc should have a plan in place and spoken to you about what is next. I know that they tell you PVCs are a benign arrhythmia. I was a cardiac nurse for years. However, I do know that they are dangerous when coupled with heart disease and since I have baaaaaad cholesterol (heredity), I worry more.
itdood: No, not a consistent pattern, and it probably is quite coincidental, but I have noticed this tons of times and I KNOW the weather plays a part (especially barometric pressure) on my head, so maybe there is a bit of a connection...not necessarily the cause. Any hint, I will take.
To answer your last question, I almost NEVER have problems when I am sick. It is almost always after, but not this long after. It seems like my heart tries to behave while my body is fighting things....weird.
I haven't been aware of my pvcs/pacs long enough to be able to see any sort of pattern but I will agree with your analysis of barometric pressure on the head. Changes will definitely give me headaches.
I hear so much about people getting a break from the ectopics when they are sick. I wish someone would study this!!!
Hey Rita! I asked this very same question the begining of winter...maybe because we have more colds or flus or whatever? lol I don't know but I remember when I posted my observation on this, I was hoping you would post an answer! Anyway, I have been having a particularly rough coupla weeks, so I'm goin back to taking my pulse too...
Hey, Elli! lol How about you take my pulse and I'll take yours!!!
Sounds like a plan Rita...especially since my kids have taken to making fun of me again, taking their pulse when they catch me doing my- wrist, neck, wrist, neck, count, count- wrist neck thing...LMAO even my 2 and a half year old grandbaby imitates me, pressing her neck and yelling "look Mima" and laughing hysterically!
