PVC's after treadmill

I've had a lot of PVC's and PAC's these last couple of weeks. I've noticed after walking on the treadmill and my heart begins to slow I'm throwing one or the other. Is this what they call recovery PVC's? Is this something I need to let the cardio know is happening or is this normal when the heart begins to slow?

I really do believe from all the research and reading that arrhythmia's can contribute to weak hearts as we age and CAD.

I think the proof is in many studies and why there's an almost doubled propensity-adjusted mortality rate as we age, I think it was in our 60's+ and why I question the treatment of arrhythmia's, why more research isn't done and when doctors will take the blinders off and really begin to understand patients and symptoms.

Thanks for the replies..I do feel them at other times as well and sometimes during the exercise. What makes sense to me is that if your heart is beating faster from exercise, naturally as it slows the rythym would not necessarily be NSR...as it is trying to get back to this rythym...I feel like I'm talking in circles...it makes sense that I would feel more irregularities as it was trying to slow..just like when I get a pump of adrenaline and it is slowing or trying to get back where it needs to be. None of my doctors have ever mentioned this to me or was ever concerned...they always ask if I can do whatever I want and if I can, I'm good. If they could just have a few minutes as me they wouldn't say that. I felt great today at work. I don't always exercise like I should and maybe the treadmill has nothing to do with it, but I didn't feel one skip all day! Which is RARE...but the day's not over yet. Lisa, I'm going to go read those articles now. I also wonder if these arrythmias when we are young help to contribute to weak hearts as we age along with clogged arteries. I also still think every person has them, just us lucky ones get to feel them ;)

I gather from the article that's about sums up what they're saying, but I wonder about it because they do not give ages of patients or ages at death  - which can be a very significant factor in this study.

If age is taken into account, it probably means as we age we're more likely to have pvc increased mortality but I'd like to see an above the line any age included study and I bet that conclusion would go down dramatically.

I want to be sure I understand that last line---are they saying in people without heart-failure or heart disease--but they have pvcs during recovery they are at a greater risk of death?

opps I see I forgot part of the info:

Resting PVCs, age, and systolic blood pressure were key predictors of both exercise and recovery PVCs.  however, I do not see median age ranges listed and again I think the Significance of exercise and recovery PVCs unclear as is pointed out in the article

their conclusion was interesting: CONCLUSION: In our heart failure-free population, recovery PVCs were associated with increased mortality and augmented established risk markers

This is a much debated question by patients and dr's; there was a post in the heart disease forum about it back in Sept 2010 and an article on Recovery PVCs; the article said During Treadmill Testing they are Tied to Heart Disease

I read the entire article and what I found was yes, they did matter but the subjects for this research were older men and women in the VA and some had other problems so I don't know how much that came into play. So, I really question this research and study pertaining to the general aged population.

George D. Lundberg, MD, explains that PVCs do matter - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OiJSOy7Mjrghttp://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/571891

The NCBI article says this: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2390697/
Recovery PVCs, but not exercise PVCs, were associated with an almost doubled propensity-adjusted mortality rate.  If so, wouldn't more young people be dying from them because we all know tons of people suffer pvc's, again age plays a part in this I think.

here's the full publication I found; not sure what else there was but I couldn't find anything:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18227372

I can tell you this if you read my stress treadmill test result you'll see I have them during and after exercise.  In 4min 55sec I had Frequent pvc's and 2 PVC couplets and 1 PVC triplet in recovery; Increasing Dyspnea was noted with exercise stress as well as increasing dizziness.  Nausea was noted in recovery and I fainted.

My QRS segment of PVC's narrowed substantially with exercise, widening again in recovery (180 ms to 80 ms) which I'm told is one of the factors that causes me to have problems and faint along with my bp will not rise like it's supposed to.

It's one part of my complex puzzle that has to be taken into context with the rest of my symptoms and problems =)

I would love some more info on this subject for anyone who has it or finds it.

bbxx is correct.  I also read that there might be a slight risk if the pvc's occur only during recovery, but not any other time.  Also, the study was done with veterans that had heart disease I believe so not really relevant in the "real world".
My pvc's were bad today.  Went shopping with my daughter.  I just hate when I feel them coming one every few beats for a long period of time.  Funny though, I got on the treadmill when I got home and haven't felt one since.
It just is such a pain to live with these when they are acting up.

Thank you! That makes me feel much better...they have calmed down now but when that heart is slowing...whew...there are some hard hitters! Thanks again!

I have them pre, during, right after, way after--
I think that is what they call recovery--but from what I have "heard" its not so much a threat in people that always have pvcs--but a sign when someone that never has pvcs suddenly gets them after exercise. I cant swear by that, but i think thats what I read.
