Had an episode - how do you deal with it?

I had another episode similar to this last week, pvc every other beat until i coughed it away, then back to normal.

It spooked the crap out of me

It happens once or twice every month and then nothing for a while, sometimes i go a few months with out a "weird" episode.

Yet, every year i have an EKG done and every where its normal.  How do other people deal with their sudden episodes?  I am now (for a while) hyper aware of my heartbeat and every little thing that happens out of the norm (like my sudden lightheadedness) i automatically think if its my heart.

I know pvc's are harmless even when its every other beat, but it still spooks me

i understand that, i had a holter done and only showed 6500+ in a day

My doc put me on meds because it was effecting my quality of life.  He said he does not medicate unless they are in the 20k+ range.

Since that (2008) i have been dealing with occasional sudden out bursts that last for a few seconds and go away.

i guess its better than constant all day

Some truth in what you said, but not everything.  Pvc's although generally benign if frequent enough and over a long enough period of time can contribute to a cardiomyopathy.  Automaticity issues are frequently hard to pick up on an ekg, but there are other options for longer term evaluation...    Holter monitor or implantable loop recorder.  Both of these options would help your physician determine the severity of the problem with your pvcs.  Pvc ablations are not uncommon treatments for people with very frequent pvcs.
