Positive Tilt Test

Two years ago I was diagnosed with dysautonomia after wearing an event monitor for 5 weeks.  My symptoms were a slow heart beat and sometimes a fast heart beat for no apparent reason.  In May I started  noticing that I was getting very tired while working and my h/r would be around 46.  I went for a tilt test in July to confirm whether I truly have dysautonomia or not.  My starting heart rate was 55 b/m and b/p 119/64.  15 minutes into the test, I passed out and my heart rate was 38 with b/p of 64/28, I was told the top chambers of my heart stopped functioning.  I have family history of sudden death, maternal grandparents, maternal aunt and two uncles but my mother is fine.  I also have lupus and don't want to go on a variety of medications.  Would a pacemaker be a good solution for my case?  I have an appointment on Monday with an Electrocardiologist and would appreciate any information or questions that I should bring with me.

Thank you for the reply.  He could be an EP, my cardiologist referred to him as an Electro-Cardiologist, I'm not sure if there is a difference or not.  It seems the more research I do, the more it looks like I'm in for a pacemaker, which at this point, I'm okay with.  I was told that I had malfunctioning pacemaker and that's what caused the two upper chamber to stop functioning.  Monday can't come soon enough - sometimes I think the waiting is worse than the actual procedure would be.  Thank you again for the reply - I'll keep you posted.  Have a great day ! ! !

Is your Monday appointment with a Electro Physiologist (EP).   That is the specialist that works on the electrical system and I believe do ablation procedures..and other catheter work.

I do not have specific knowledge of tilt table procedures, but given you family history and the heart stop you experienced on the tilt table it may be that you need some type of heart monitor device: a defibrillator or pace maker.  This is something I would want to get specific recommendations on from the EP.
