Rapid heart rate

I'm on Losartan/Hctz combination for hypertension. I'm 22yrs old normal weight, don't smoke or drink, eat good and I stay hydrated. I woke up this morning took my medicine, and about an hour later I stood up from sitting my heart rate wentfrom 75 to 97 maybe even higher at times....I don't do this every morning but sometimes it will happens. Is this my meds? Being as it only happens sometimes? I'm very active usually but lately I've been sitting around being concerned about my health might walk for 30 mins on the treadmill. What could this be caused by? I have a leaky valve(mild) but that's all my echo showed

What you're describing sounds like normal cardiac response.  This is due to hydrostatic influences acting mainly, through the carotid sinus reflex. The carotid sinus is sort of like a sampling area in your body for maintaining blood pressure.  When you're seated, or laying down, it take a considerably less effort for your heart to circulate blood throughout your body.  Your body's response to positional changes can vary from hour to hour and day to day.  In fact, I would think that no reponse, ie. increased heart rate from gross positional changes in you body would be a problem.  Sounds normal to me.

I think you've stumped everybody with your question. Normally somebody posts some kind of reply within a day or so.

You might have POTS, but something is telling me this is not the right call.

You say you have been worrying about your health?   How much?  Are/were you depressed?  Stress hormones could be messing with you.

Are you very very active?  Too much exercise can cause a high heart rate.  You could rest in this case. Otherwise, maybe you need to get back to exercise. Unless you had a good reason to stop.

When I feel depressed I dont feel real great. PVC's and every little thing seems to get away from me. I know that I seem to do alot better if I stay in my normal routine, or get back to it, if I have been away from it. I do have tea or coffee if I feel fatigued. Some caffeine (careful, not too much, tea is better) helps lift my spirit.
