disturbing palpitations after a physical activity

i'm a 25 years old boy, normal weight normal height.i started having irregular heartbeat when i was 17 .doctor said i have a minor Mitral Valve Prolapse and prescribed propranolol 20mg a day i took it for 3 months and it worked! after 3 years it started again and i felt like my heart skips a beat.i must admit that i got more anxious as i grew older i went to the doctor and he said i must be relax and i need no special diet or any kind of medicine.
is it all related to anxiety and stress?
during last 2 years i experienced terrible palpitations after lifting items or physical activity and sexual intercourse. i visited my doctor again and this time he prescribed xanax and it was so relaxing.it makes me calm and decreased my stress.but i still had palpitations . i learned to take 1 propranolol tablet (10mg) whenever i felt it's starting.this year i changed my doctor and visited one of the best doctors in town,i explained my condition,he checked the previous my echocardiography and other documents which was all normal and prescribed propranolol treatment at the dose 40 mg per day(half in the morning/half at night). after 3 days i started to feel dizzy and had vertigo which i never experienced before! i called the doctor he recommended to lower the dosage but, dizzyness and remained! so i cut on prop and i got better(i'm talking about dizziness) day by day and now it's ok .i visited the doctor again and he strongly believed that it couldnt be the medicine side effect but i'm sure it's related to the pills. anyway he  prescribed holter and TTT but i didn't  do any of them.i believe that if i've had started prop on a low dose it would be alright.
thank you for reading this and sharing your opinions:)

Anxiety can be a monster, but it can also be largely overcome.  I get dizziness all the time, sometimes pretty bad, and I have for years.  There's no clear cut reason why, so I just deal with it.  It seems worse when I am under a lot of stress, and thus I figure it's part of the whole "anxiety syndrome" lol

Anxiety meds can cause dizziness, as can beta blockers.  Put them together and it's even more of a possibility.  Try not to worry too much.  Easier said, I know.

maybe your medication is helping to cause your anxiety lol..if xanax isnt working for you, id totally recommend trying something new. My doc has tried me on 3 different medications before I found one that actually helped my anxiety, therefore helping my palpitations. Good luck!

I have mvp, but I no longer take propanalol. I was getting palpitations while I was taking it, so I decided to stop taking it after talking to my dr.  I experience palpitations after physical activity, even running up the stairs, and sometimes after sex. But, they go away after I slow down. I try not to stress too much about it....the dr said my mvp is very benign.  I take 50 mg of zoloft daily to keep my anxiety under control. Sometimes the palpitations start for no apparent reason but I have learned to live with it.

and yes, stress plays a major factor in how many palpitations you can get!! anxiety too, like in my case. I take 5mg of buspar 3times a day and it helps tons! Maybe you could try a different anxiety medication at a lower dose more times a day and see if it helps them decrease. They may not go away for good but it can make them few and far between!

it could possibly be the propranolol thats making you dizzy. I just had to lower my anxiety medication because I was soo dizzy moments after I took it. I cant tell you much about your palpitations because I suffer from them myself due to anxiety (thats what my doc says..) and i dont even have the answers to my problems. My palps do act up during exertion and exercise just as yours do. Good luck and I hope someone else here can help you out more!
