Procedure when a stent id blocked

My husband and I have been told that he has a stent that is blocked and some damage to his heart. He is going in for a heart cath in a few days and i was wondering, the doctor said that he will decide once he gets in what to do. What are our options?

No my husband is 54 years old, he has had 2 heart attacks. I have no idea why i suddenly felt the need to change his doctor, but i think it may have saved his life, it's been almost 2 years since his last heart attack and this is the first time any testing besides blood work has been done. I am so glad this doc ordered it on our first visit. He's been his doctor for 2 weeks and has already impressed me by catching this with the test. I think he may have saved his life.

Get the test done, that's the first thing.  A blockage can be dangerous, I believe.

I suppose what your doctor means by "will decide" is it may be possible to repair the stent or it may require bypass surgery, a more serious surgery.  I see from your profile you are 25, if your husband is near your age I am surprised that he required a stent...but that being the case treatment and monitoring by a specialist is appropriate.
