Hello,
I've been doctoring with a fast heart rate. This started because my resting heart rate was in the 120's. PCP did EKG, wore a monitor for a day and wore a monitor for a week. After being referred to a cardiologist, he said my results aren't accurate from the monitor because the PCP had me take Propanolol while wearing the monitor. He did an ultrasound of my heart and said my heart is working fine. He told me to wean off the propanolol and monitor my heart rate, mainly at night while sleeping.
Now that I'm off the beta blocker, my heart rate has sky rocketed again. Wearing a heart rate monitor at sleep my average heart rate is 88 or higher with spikes that go to 107 or higher. During the day my heart rate can spike to the 130's while not doing anything strenuous. PCP told me it's anxiety which I legit have and been diagnosed with GAD which I'm on medicine for. Should I go back to the cardiologist to wear a monitor again? Is the heart rate I'm experiencing considered too high at sleep or is this my normal? After months of testing I'm no closer to any answers as to why my heart rate is so high. Any answers are appreciated. Thank you for your time.
