SVT, had ablation

I am posting this because when I suffered from years and years of SVT there wasn't a lot of places to go for information or people to talk to. SVT seems to go undiagnosed for so long because it is so hard to catch. By the time you make it to the ER and you actually get in to see someone, you have often already converted back to a normal rhythm. Luckily, I worked in the ER and was able to hook myself up to an EKG and catch it. I tried Beta Blockers and they didn't work very well for me so I decided to have an ablation. It was the best decision that I ever made. If you have any questions about it feel free to message me! =]

I'm so glad to hear about your abalations and that they have all been a success! =]
To Martha20166, when I had mine I would feel some tingling in my leg and weird feelings in my neck, a tons of muscles twitches. I asked my cardiologist and he said it was normal. For the first few days or maybe even longer you will feel like you are going to go back into SVT, but you don't. It's just that your heart has been so use to taking that extra pathway for so long that it has to re learn the new route. It's kind of like when you are driving your regular route to the grocery store but there's construction that way, you have to take a new route! =] Either way I would at least ask your Dr about your symptoms. That's what they are there for. I think a lot of the anxiety, for me at least, stems from the years of SVT. It has made me so paranoid. It's a habit that I must unlearn. Tom_h, that is such a long time to suffer from SVT. So glad that you had your ablation!

That's great to hear, all!  I'm 4+ months post ablation.  I got rid of 54 years of SVT.  It feels great!

@martha20166 Keep an eye on that tingling.  Report any coldness or numbness in your feet or toes immediately to the doctor.  You don't want that!

Good luck all!

I had ablation for SVT - just posted my experience... My Heart is doing very well even after just 3weeks. Though you must always ask and tell your GP or Cardiac specialist anything, they are aways best placed to tell you what you need for your condition.

That's wonderful your ablation was a success =) great to hear when someone gets their life back.  You should put that in your journal so others can read about your success; there's so many who come here for answers and looking for successes such as yours.

Martha20166; you should call your doctor and speak to them about this - it could just be from your heart being irritated but it could be from something else due to surgery - let your doctor know asap.
