What could it be?

Hi,
Im 24, m, 11.5 stone, non smoker, light drinker, fairly athletic, good diet

Just one question as my doctor is unavailable for a week. I get PVC's from time to time. This showed up on a holter moniter that i had on about 18 months ago. My echo, stress test, bloods, x-ray all normal, just occassional PVC's. I canlive with that as the heart is structurally normal. The thing is, when i excercise, i occassionaly get a pounding of my heart that feels way stronger than ususal, it makes me feel as if the beat is kind of irregular, but im not sure?? It definately is brought on with excercise. I play soccer without warming up and when i push myself, this happens. Sometimes it can stay for 30mins, and i feel uncomfortable excercising because of it. Im just wondering does this sound like PVC's?, as i definately get these occassionaly anyway. The feeling when i excercise feels like a very strong beat, with a normal beat in between. Maybe adrenaline brings it on? my cardiologist and local doctor have tried to reassure me because all the tests seemed good apart from a pvc occassionaly. Not sure about the excercise thing though.

Best Regards.

Sounds like you need to do a controlled warm up.  That may help, or maybe I misunderstand the trigger(s).  We all know we should warm up before undertaking strenuous physical activity - many of us don't give this enough attention  - guilty here.

Sounds like PVCs because you said there's a strong beat followed by the pause.

PVCs can occur at any moment during normal sinus rhythm (NSR).  PVCs can feel very soft/mild or very strong.  It depends on when during NSR they occur.  Late in NSR will feel like a harder kick.  This is because the ventricles have more time to fill with blood.  Early in NSR it will feel very light or lack any sensation at all.

I might have this backwards, but's that the basics of why the sensations of a PVC differ.  If you're not feeling any other symptoms and you have clearance from your doc, these are safe.

I would get a holter monitor for what is happening during exercise and let me know.  This is a strange sensation that I also get during exercise....lol
