I am commenting on your question but I am no Dr. My son when he started to school had an episode of where his heart beat so fast that they called an ambulance and took him to the ER where he was diagnosed with WPW Syndrome. He had an extra valve and sometimes the blood would flow over in that valve and then his heart would beat really fast to catch up. We were told that this condition was hereditary and also that it wasn't life threatening, but when he was fifteen he passed from this condition. We took our daughter to Childrens Hospital in Columbus OH and were told that that only happens very rarely, but if it does that it happens when they are in their teen years. Our daughter is fine and doesn't have it,but the Dr. there said that you wouldn't believe how many people are walking around that have this syndrome that don't even know it. The only way that it can be detected,to my understanding is on an EKG and they have to be looking for it. Hope that this will help others out.
I don't know...sometimes that happens to me. Saturday night, I had a couple glasses of red wine and I have fever, too so of course it made my palps start. I had a "run" that felt like thud, thud, thud, really fast and then a normal beat and then it happened again. I'm thinking it was a really hard PVC followed by a regular beat and then another really hard PVC. It stopped after 2 and my heart just beat fast for a few seconds.
