Pregnancy and PVCs.

Hello all, I've not been on here in a while as things have been a bit hectic over the last few months. I started acupuncture and started taking some food grade multi vitamins and minerals and also omega oils. The pvcs didn't go completely but I felt really positive and honestly could ignore them and just get on with things. I saw a cardiologist a while ago and I'm now booked in for a 24hr holter monitor and stress test at the end of january.

However, everything has changed dramatically over the last couple of weeks. I found out I was pregnant again but two days later was rushed into hospital with a suspected miscarriage/possible ectopic pregnancy. Luckily, despite continuing to lose a lot of blood and cramp a lot, miraculously a week and a half later I had another scan which revealed a normal gestational sac with a heartbeat and foetal pole etc They also found a blood clot and fibroid (sorry if too much information!) so we're not totally out of the woods yet.

My two questions for you guys are as follows;

1. The gynae said that I should not do the stress test at the end of jan as I may still be at risk of miscarrying. Should I press for an echo instead? I feel like having something else done would put my mind as ease, as since all this happened my pvcs have been going crazy.

2. I know a lot of people will say that the anxiety has made them increase, but to be honest I am one of those people who just thinks if it wasn't meant to be... plus I have one gorgeous daughter and am lucky in so many ways. My pvcs started during my first pregnancy having never had them before so I honestly think they are hormone related. The acupuncturist has worked on regulating my hormone levels and I honestly think it has helped as the pvcs used to be worst pre-menstrually. I just wondered if anyone has found any other natural way of regulating hormones to control their pvcs, especially during pregnancy?

Thanks for reading, sorry for waffling a bit. I have always found the people and replies on this website so helpful.

Thanks, I think I will ask for an echo just to be sure, no harm in asking.

I am trying to eat well but feeling quite nauseous most of the time, I think all the digestive disturbances of pregnancy don't help either as I find indigestion worsens the pvcs. The doctors told me to stay off my feet as much as possible for a few weeks but hopefully I'll be able to go back to normal activity after that. Sitting around doesn't help my pvcs at all.  I've been in and out of bigeminy all day, counting 20 at a time! I wish the stupid things would just get lost.

Congratulations on your pregnancy! PVC's are most definitely hormone related. I think pressing for an echo is not a bad idea if it makes you feel better. The holter monitor results should also put your mind at ease. As your pregnancy progresses your hormone levels should even out. Keep taking good care of yourself and the baby by eating, well, exercising and lowering your stress level.

I hope this helps.
