Heart Reythem misbahaves

I am 61 year old on Nusar AM one tablet daily.  My recent lipid test are fine.  Ekg is within Normal Limits. I suddenly feel my heart beating irregularly and then reguarly and then for days together no such issues. TMT shows no PVCs. I keep on worrying about my heart.  I can feel each beat when the disorder starts.  A strange feeling descends on me somewhere above the abdomen deep below  between the rib cage where doctors generally check for acidity pain symptoms.  It is now 4 years I have been living with such stupid feeling.  A  heart failure any time sort of feeling stays with me all the time. How do I get out of it.

Hi
It was on 19 May that I was feeling much better after morning treadmill exercise.  Since then there is no issue. What surprises me are the long spells of normal beatings.  The week gone had been too hectic even then the heart has behaved like a good boy. Can anyone explain the reason for sudden change of mood for the heart? If something is wrong with the system what makes it work normal way for long spells.  Where does that abnormality go during this period.  I have done more exercise to stimulate the abnormality if it exists with no result at all.

Should you revert It will be satisfying.

Ok, if your Dr won't put you on a Holter monitor, which incidentally is wireless, you are not tethered to it,....it would be choice #1.  Anyway, burping could very well be a big piece of the puzzle.  Do you know anything about the vagus nerve and how it affects heart rate and the digestive tract, and swallowing and a whole host of other things?  If not, you need to read extensively on it and I think you will see the connection.  There are plenty of threads here on Medhelp concerning these issues. If you truly do have irregular beat issues they will probably only get worse over time. You really should not ignore it.

Thanks for your revert.  Burping is one peculiar symptom associated with my episodes. I cant understand the connection. Since yesterday there are no symptoms. I am from India. It is difficult to push your advice on a doctor in my country.  No doctor feels like putting me tagged to a monitor.  They say it is nothing serious.  It is my feeling of the episodes that is disturbing me.
Any way I am fine today; may continue so till next episode.  Thanks for you interest.
One thing more I do not experience increased heart rate.  It does not cross 80 to 90 bpm.

Hi and welcome to MH.  Like Jerry said, you would benefit from wearing a long term Holter monitor, maybe for 30 days ideally.  That way you and your Dr would be sure to pick up on these events.  I assume your Dr is a cardiologist, right?  I have just recently been researching alkalyzing vs acidifying foods  and how if affects the digestive system of us a-fibbers.  There are lists everywhere on the net.  I don't know what your diet is like but you may want to check it out.  Something is obviously going on and you need to keep pursuing a remedy for it.

Yes.  The doctor had me on EKG.  I have gone through this routine 5 to 6 times.  EKG reports nothing. TMT during the period I was going through this episode showed nothing except 3 missing beats in 8 minutes exercise which the doctor did not bother at all.  Report says arrhythmia NIL.  No monitor has been suggested by any doctor. My episodes do not appear for days together.  Tahe 30 minutes on Treadmill have never bothered me.  The only negative aspect is the Negative thinking and continued worry about health. My younger brother died of heart attack.  He used to have missing beats in series of 2 to 3 at one go.  My youngest brother died in an accident and mother expired in 2005 due to cancer.  At times I blame these factors for the negative thinking that I have developed.

Could it be anxiety?  When I visit a doctor the assurance works like wonder and the episodes disappear for a comparatively longer time.

You didn't mention if you doctor has had you on an EKG while you were experiencing the symptoms.  If not, the most likely case for occasional symptoms, you may benefit from wearing a long term monitor.

If you have occasional atrial fibrillation, many do, that could cause irregular episodes and other symptoms.  This could be picked up on a monitor if you are wearing it when that happens.

Good luck, and try to avoid worry/anxiety, that is itself will cause many to suffer heart symptoms.
