I agree with you about the very low amount of sleep with breastfeeding. After not a wink of sleep for months, I had either decided that I would jump out of a window or figure something else out. I tried sleeping with the baby and it worked like a charm for us. I slept with him next to me and when he woke up to eat I just rolled to the side to nurse him and then off we both went back to sleep. It was great. He is now six years old and a fantastic snuggly little guy. He went straight from my bed to a toddler bed and the co-sleeping worked out very well for us, even though my pediatrician did not recommend it. I am a light sleeper and never had to worry about rolling over on him. Good luck katiecolin!!
After the births of both my babies I developed Pac/Pvc. I stopped nursing my son at 8 months in hopes they would stop, but now it is two years later and they are still here. Hang in there!!

My PVC's started when I began to wean my first child. It isn't the breastfeeding that causes them though, it's the hormones. Whether you nurse or not, they aren't going to stop for awhile...at least they didn't in my case, because the hormones are raging either way.
The biggest problem about breast feeding and PVC's is the very low amount of sleep you get during that time of your life. Try to get as much rest as you can....it will help.
That is about the time that mine started so I only breastfed my third baby for four months. But there was no noticable difference after I weaned the baby and now I really wish I hadn't stopped so early.
