Thanks - wise counsel! Believe it or not, since returning the event monitor I have had 2 separate tachycardia episodes of short duration - 10-20 seconds (could be SVT?) that started and ended abruptly. This makes me very anxious and scared to exercise. While I have had just about every cardiology test there is, and depending on the results of my latest event monitor, I think I may ask to see my Cardiologist again for re-assessment/reassurance that there is nothing sinister going on. cheers mark
I don't have time to really comment on all of the post, but one thing hit me: you said that your heart rate ( just over 100) GRADUALLY settled down. True arrhythmias start and stop on a dime, they don't gradually slow down.
Anxiety is going to play a huge roll in this picture, so keep that in mind. The heart rates in the 70-80's range are not really too high. Some drugs can cause the heart rate to increase some, but this really isn't asn increase that is significant with 60-100 being the normal range. When I took Verapimal my heart rate jumped up to 160+; I had to come off the drug. If it were me, I wouldn't give this a second thought, but I am not you and you are the one to decide whether or not this is impacting your life.
