seven years and going backwards

seven years ago i developed svt overnight and ended up in resuss room, where flecanide was administered and after two days in icu unit it was brought under control.265 beats per min.stayed on flec for one month and stopped taken due to adverse reactions.after research into corallations between digestive disorders and arrhythmias i asked for a endoscopy much to my cardios amusment.results showed barrets oesphagsus and hiatus hernia.my doctor still didnt see any connection.i believe there is.next five years passed and numerous visits too er,one angiogram heart normal and 4 eps studies, all too no avail,no ablation done and notoow my cardiologist tells me he thinks i also have af,puts me on aspirin and sotalol,am taking aspirins but not sotalo as i think risks of taking these too high too be done in the home background and not a clinical monitored situation,i am now beginning too wonder just how much my doctors do actually know about these conditions.am tired and weary any advice welcome...thanks.

thanks a million for your reply.was a bit pissed off when i wrote that post yesterday so apologies for the punctuation.wont be taken the sotalol but will have too take some form of beta blocker im sure.why dont doctors realise the implications of just serving out these meds as if from a candy store.....overfamiliarity breeds content i suppose..im from ireland and our pool of cardios would be rather condensed and all interconnected so it wouldnt be wise too fall sour of them i suppose.lol.is there any figures available about the mortality rates associated with having svt and afib..thanks for ur reply jerry

Given you bad experience with flecanide I understand your concern about Sotalol.
My data shows:
Class III
Sotalol (trade names Betapace)
TIKOSYN® (Dofetilide Capsules)

And my cardiologist and ER both agree that if I were to try these the "loading" would have to be supervised in the hospital.  I have not gone on either.  I have AFib.  I take both aspirin and warfarin for clot prevention and metoprolol for rate control.
