In May 2010 I was rushed to the hospital for chest pains and my heart beating 134bpm. The doctor said it was dehydration and they pumped me full of fluids, 4 liters worth. But that didnt touch the heart rate. I would go from 90'sbpm laying down to the 150'sbpm when they sat me up to take my blood pressure. It wasnt until they gave me a beta blocker that the heart rate went down and the chest pain went away. The night in the hospital they took so many test. I had a cat scan, xrays, ekg...you name it. and a but load of blood test. Everything came back normal but my heart was still racing. Since then i have seen an EP specialist, a pediatric cardiologist, and a regular cardiologist. They first said it could be Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia, but my heart is healthy there is nothing wrong with it, and it beats normal. So they took that diagnosis away. Then me and my mom read about POT's(postural tachycardia syndrome) and thought that could be it. When i get to bending over or sitting to standing my heart goes crazy. I was attemping to do laundry the other day and it got up to the 160'sbpm. The only thing thats not consistant with POT's is that my blood pressure doesnt change. I have been on an event monitor and still nothing. The doctors dont know why it came about or what to do with it. They are stumped. It is really frustrating for my as an 18 year-old, I cant live a normal life. I go to college 3 days a week and as soon as i get home i crash, and on the days i dont go i sleep all the time. Right now i take metoperal twice daily which helps for a short time. The time my heart gets extremly high is when im sleeping and waking up from night or a nap. im wore out as soon as i wake up. im also taking salt tablets 4 times a day and the steriod florenef once in the morning. but nothing seems to help.
