Thank you for the information. I had an early menopause due to hysterectomy when I was 30. My thyroid function tests have been ok and have been checked recently. I have been put on flecanaide 50mg, and hope this will be the answer. My heart beats are either way too high or suddenly and abruptly drop to around the 40s mark. I have chest pain often and this can also be felt in my back. I was told Atrial Tachycardia at the hospital after my test but see my Gp on Thursday so may learn more through her.

I am not a doctor so I only go by my own personal experience.  The tachycardia aside, your symptoms sound a bit like hypothyroidism.  Have you had your thyroid tested?  You could also be experiencing symptoms of menopause as well so you may want to visit your gyni.  Has anyone told you what type of atrial tachycardia you are having?  There are really all sorts from afib to accessory pathway svts, to runs of pacs which they call PAT to simple sinus tachycardia that is usually caused by issues outside the heart.  Considering your other symptoms it may be something to do with hormone levels causing your heart to beat too fast but you might want to get clarification from your doctor about what type of tachycardia you have and if there is anything you should be doing about it.  Sometimes all that is to be done is to change our lifestyles around a bit or meds can be given to control the fast beat if it is disrupting your life.   Anyways, best of luck. I do hope you can get to the bottom of this.
