shortness of breath

Just a general question....I have moments several times during the day when I feel shortness of breath ( like I just can't fill my lungs) I experience it a lot the day after drinking alcohol but not only then sometimes it just comes on for now reason, even at rest. If I yawn this seems to alleviate it momentarily and I can get a full breath. Just wondering if anyone has experienced a similar type of thing. I've had it for years and even though I cope with it it really bothers me. It started right around the time I first experienced PVC's....

No easy answer, it could be a good safety measure to discuss with your doctor.  Otherwise, I think it is possible you are subconscious, holding your breath or taking several very shallow breaths.  A yawn will add oxygen to your blood... I assume a mind driven couple of deep breaths would also help.  I assume you can take a deep breath whenever you want too.  By the I mean, in my case, a breath so deep I can feel the lungs expand beyond normal expansion.

I also sometime catch myself taking short breaths... before any SOB problem, I just notice it.
