Nadolol works by reducing the heart rate and the force of contractions of the heart's muscle, thereby lowering blood pressure. If the heart's need for oxygen exceeds the supply of oxygen, chest pain can occur. By slowing the heart rate and decreasing the force of muscle contractions, nadolol reduces the demand of the heart's muscle for oxygen. If you're young, you're probably active. Increasing your heart rate will up its demand for oxygen. This could result in a dull ache, and a heavy feeling in your chest. Perhaps your dosage could be adjusted to prevent this.
Hey there, did you speak to your EP about these symptoms?
Emma
I have SVT/AVNRT, or should I say I DID have. I had an ablation done 4 months ago.
Whenever I had an attack I would get very dizzy, sometimes the dizzyness was the only problem, no crazy heart rate just the dizzyness. Then started the crazy heart rate 230 bpm and almost fainting.
I didn't really take the bb's as they never were good for me.
not yet. i'm going see him sometime in february i hope. that is odd but i gotta say, i feel you. i feel those sensations sometimes when i assume my heart is behaving. not sure what thats about though. maybe i'll ask. i'll go read your post.
Hi there,
Check out my post, for 6 months i have had inappropriate sinus tachycardia and some atrial tachycardia which they think is due to a viral heart infection.
What has been really doing my head in in the last month is that at times where my heart is behaving I will feel dizzy / lightheaded, and my vision can get slightly blurred and lights will appear quite bright. I also get chest pain which again doesnt coincide with palpitations. They keep trying to blame all of this on anxiety but i am not convinced.
Have u asked ur doc?
