Medicine Help

hi. i'm new. I was diagnosed with AIH type 2  when i was 17. I have been treated with prednisone, actigall, and mercaptapurine. I ran out of the actigall and have not had any in my system for about a month, as I have been waiting for a new perscription, it should arrive today or tomorrow. Even though I have been the mercaptapurine I have seen some of the jaundice return. Should I wait to see if the actigall will work? or should I go to the doctor and get all my levels checked. I should note that I do not have any health insurance

Yes, if you have jaundice you need to be checked for changes in your medication. Jaundice isn't a direct, infallible indicator of how your liver is doing, but it's not a good sign! Ask your doctor and/or your hospital about any program to help those without insurance. It's hard to be persistent when you don't feel well, but ask and ask again.
Best wishes.

I know you have a problem with no insurance but the best guidance I can give you is for you to be checked by the doctor if you have any jaundice
