It's actually a sign of the HCV infection of the forum and possibly your computer.

Just kidding of course!  Actually, it's a case of ASCII characters being used from an unsupported font.  It may result from using a different browser, but more likely is the result of a cut and paste occurring from another application or web site which uses a non-standard (i.e. one supported by all browsers) character font.  I often see it occurring where one might expect quotation marks """.

In some cases it is due to language filters being imposed upon unacceptable words, even if the word is buried within the spelling of another word like postshits is posts hits with the space between words missing (not sure if this example will work but I think you'll see the point)

Hopes this helps explain it.

can someone tell me about neupogen?

my doc called me today and made me go to the hematologist for a second shot (first one was 2 weeks ago)

He checks my weekly labs and calls me if my wbc are too low.

but today the hematologist told me that's not usually how it
's done (the neupogen shots)

do most of you take it regularly as OH is now doing?

I think friole is right. I have the slowest dial-up service but thats part of the price of living in the hills, where I live. I often write letters off-line and cut and paste, keeping the phone line open.
I just talked to the nurse who's helping me with the neupogen. Seems like I took only half the dosage I'm supposed to take. Damn! I knew I was feeling too good. My husband says maybe the whole dose will make me feel twice as good. He tries.

OH is pretty far away from CA. There's some sort of a joke here about states and countries, but it's not working out much better than most of my other weak attempts.

Anyway, be sure to warm the juice, that's important. The needle is a little heftier than the peg one, but Procrit's worse, FWIW. That's probably not much consolation, is it?

Remember the 45 degree angle, stab in quick and shoot slow. I'm clipping these tips to hand off to my boy on Prom night.

Just include a smiley in every post. As in...'I have cancer', then put a smiley face on the end of it.  :) or, I need a heart and lung transplant :) etc, etc.

ANYWHO, man, I'm finding that as time goes on finding injection spots is tougher and tougher. When I started I would inject in my legs but it always left really large sores that developed into a rash so I only inject in my stomach now. I have a pretty large gut, but it's beginning to be a problem and I may have to go back to my legs to give my abdomen a break. I used to really try to space out the shots and rotate them from leg to leg and stomach left to right and back, but now I can never remember WHERE I did my last shot, only that I know I didn't do it in my leg. Now I just load up the syringe and let 'er rip in whatever area looks best at that time. What can you do, seriously.

Not sure about those characters but I thought they were from writing the post in some other format and pasting it into this one.  I think you can write in Word and paste here, but I don't know about WordPerfect or some of the other formats.

Thanks, sorta. I quess I may have to get over my, don't touch my belly!, thing.
I'm doing pegasys and Neupegon twice weekly.
I did the shot on the side of my thigh. I know I'm going to feel like a voodoo doll by the time this mess is over.
Bug, I saw those greek looking letters too. I'm  in an alien world, called Mendocino.
I think I'll be more careful about the angle and ask for tiny needles. Thanks everyone.

I used my thighs for Pegasys and my belly for Procrit and Neupogen.  I avoided the belly  at first, but after the first one it is not so bad.  (no comment, goof).  Wish Fisheress would drop by to give her belly injection tips......

You can get whatever kind of needles you want.  I think the Pegasys needle is a 27 ga.  I would get the allergy injection needles of 28, 29, or even 30 ga (1/2").  Really really tiny -- I used the cheap ones that the needle didn't come off on.  I know that isn't how you should do it (because the point had already been used once to pierce the vial rubber) but I did it anyway.  BUt still, you can get a needle the same or smaller than the INF needle.

Did they tell you to do not do it the same time as the INF?  Do it at least 24 hours before or after.

Goof, your son is in for it, isn't he.

Does anyone else see wierd letters sometimes like the person is writing in Gaelic? Is this a side effect of hepc:) I am seeing wierd letters and symbols in OH's post and I have always thought that meant the person posting was from overseas. Wrong again I guess, any explanantion?

I did mine in the stomach just like the Procrit and Pegasys.  I used the little square bandages to cover each injection site, first to absorb and blood resulting from the injection, and also to know where each injection was so I could pick a spot either on the opposite side or at a minimum as far from other recent injection sites as comfortably possible so serums were dispersed.

I do my neupogen in the side of my thigh not on top where I do my peg-intron.  it's easier for me to get to and it doesn't seem to hurt as bad as other places. and I have to do the neup twice a week.

Where are you injecting the Neupogen? Are you on Pegasys vs Peg-Intron?
