no.....................but if you need a PCP Dr. Jessee Casimiro is TERRIFIC at the CC in Weston.
One in a million.
My hepatologist is at U of M.
good luck
BF has no health insurance or job. Trying to get financial assistance for him to treat at Cleveland Clinic. That's why I'm asking. Trying to get Broward County to pay for his treatment at UM. Looking less hopeful. Broward Co. will only pay for treatment in another county if the treatment is not available here. There are no hepatologists on staff at Broward public hospitals and the lab does not have capability to test cryoglobulin levels or his blood properly, but they do not consider this lack of treatment here. I'm still fighting.
I couldnt possibly help you with that issue......I have insurance and am having problems getting it together...there isnt one aspect of this illness that isnt a fight it seems.
Hope it all works out.
I know how much of a fight it is. I watch BF fight everyday just to get thru the day. Poor love is in so much pain. He treated, relapsed and has never been the same Do you live in Miami?
No not Miami. Living in Weston now...might be moving east.
Hope you get him to a good doctor soon.
We're in Ft Lauderdale, near Wilton Manors. Love where we live but terrible medical treatment. I'm working on getting him help.
I too live in Wilton Manors, FL, although not for long as I will be moving to Nashville, TN. I'm pretty much am ready for a change of seasons in weather, hardwood floors, fireplace, ( my own place ) yada, yada, yada......
In answer to your question about seeing Dr. Castro at the Cleveland Clinic, I did see him but did not treat under him. I have to say that I wasn't that impressed with him. Although Cleveland Clinic is highly reputable, I, for some reason, " just wasn't that impressed" with Dr. Castro. I would possibly considered the opinion and thoughts of CHARM27's advice and maybe switch over to seeing the other Hep Dr that she mentioned there at the Cleveland Clinic. I had my biopsy done there at Cleveland in Dec., and it was read to me in person by Dr. Castro. I sorta felt like during my visit with him that I was "imposing" on his time....it was" sorta just a get me in there and get me outta there kind of visit"..............however, if for right now given your current situation you are able to get in to see Castro there at CC/Weston, then by all means stay there under a his care ( at least he is a Hep Dr. ) until things can get turned around for you....wishing you and yours all the best!!!!!
In Christ,
Rick
