Not too shabby...better than a kick in the A.SS...with numbers like this from just the SOC drugs....i wnot really be able to tell now if the BOC drugs are real or not....cause looks like ill be UN by my next blood test in 2 wks regardless in i did the BOC or not....thats a bummer...BTW...my nusre again says i will recieve all full results from the BOC drugs too...they have to tell us....but the only peolpe who really know if we get the real stuff are the big guns at the Schring and Plough

what GT are you? you are only taking SOC and had a 4 log drop in 4 weeks? didn't you treat once already? if so what was your 4 week response at that time?

I wish I could have access to my VL info...well...I believe they will release the info after 72 weeks....I think...I'll have to read my paperwork again...I have no memory cells left in my brain.

He is geno 1 and is doing the BOCEP trial for relapsers/non responders, lead in 4 weeks with SOC then they either get the BOC for 24 weeks or continue SOC and introduce bocep at a later stage (I think at 24 weeks) depending in which arm of the study.

i will be assigned to one of these 3 arms

Arm 1: Placebo Comparator
PegIntron (PEG) + Ribavirin (RBV) (weight-based dosing [WBD]) for 4 weeks followed by boceprevir placebo + PEG + RBV (WBD) for 44 weeks with 24 weeks post-treatment follow-up

Arm 2: Experimental
Subjects in Arm 2 will be assigned either a 36-week or 48-week course of therapy based on their HCV-RNA status at Treatment Week 8.

PEG + RBV (WBD) for 4 weeks followed by boceprevir + PEG + RBV (WBD) for 32 weeks, then:

36-week regimen: Subjects who have undetectable HCV-RNA at Treatment Week 8 discontinue treatment and enter 36 weeks of post treatment follow-up.
48-week regimen: Subjects who have detectable HCV-RNA at Treatment Week 8 are assigned an additional 12 weeks of therapy, followed by 24 weeks of post treatment follow-up. Placebo replaces boceprevir for the remaining 12 weeks of therapy, and this switch will occur in a blinded fashion.

Arm 3: Experimental
PEG + RBV (WBD) for 4 weeks followed by boceprevir + PEG + RBV (WBD) for 44 weeks with 24 weeks post-treatment follow-up.

I just started Boc trial here. First injection tonight.  I'm stage one level one. VL 700K. 47 years old. Work every day, etc. I plan on dropping info here regularly. I have a half dozen friends/ acquaintances who did SOC and are cleared of the virus here. EVERYONES side effects are different from each others'. There's just no predicting at all. Pisses me off major, as it flies directly in the face of all my deep-seated control issues.

You have very low liver damage and a very low VL...you know you have time to wait?....but i guess you have made your mind up...its a tough call...lots of people would not treat with stage one....BUT...i would go for it myself...best to fight while the liver is in fighting mode i say

Good luck to you both =)

Yeah, I would say I am having minimal sides.  Triple therapy was the worst of it--but still, I feel the sx were easy on me even them.  Mostly involved scratching places that were hard to reach while I was driving, lol!

And believe me....I am watching you very closely in this trial.  I'm just the first in my family that will be tx'ing.......I want to be very familiar with all options.

So, please keep me (us all) posted....good, bad and ugly....I need to hear it all.  =)

And I want to thank you for being in this trial.  I know as patients we receive benefits from it, and the pharmas receive benefits from it.  But to me it is most important that future heppers benefit.......d@mn, these drugs have me emo today, lol!!!

Keep kickin the dragon, Rocker!!!
