Distended bladder common with Hep C?

My husband completed therapy for Hep C four years ago and was "cured".
Now four years later, we find out that he has a severely extended bladder,
holding around 500+ cc after going to the bathroom.  His doctor has done
every MRI, test and exam and has no reason for why he has this condition.
He only found out about it in July 2007 from a bladder infection, with an
elevated prostate level at the time ( has returned to normal since).
Anyone experience this after completing a therapy...problems with bladder/prostate ?

She  doesnt go out now she;s stuck in bed 24/7 with a degenerative back.

I hope he gets better...........Have no idea if its HepC related and if it is there's not a thing we can do about it anyway.

All I know is imagine a woman going in to a public restroom to catherize herself!!!
My poor mom never went out due to this problem......
A man can still go to a public restroom.

Imagine someone seeing feet in the opposite direction in the rest room and its a woman.
Who know maybe all these years they thought my mom was a transvesite???

Feel well and keep us posted on this.

Sorry to hear that.  His first doctor told him to catherize himself as this was the only option. He went for a second opinion and now is on two medication that has helped him. But he will have to have surgery at some point.  He put him on bethanechol twice a day and will re-evaluate him in 3 months.  He really doesn't want to self catherize, hopefully this med will help for awhile.  Do you have Hep C also?

Urologist said I do as well. He did a cystoscopy and told be my bladder was distended and very floppy looking in shape.

Never have bladder infections and they dont know why.
However my mom has had a distended bladder since she was 40 years old she must catherize herself. She's been self catherizing for 35 years.

I dont have to thank goodness.

I dont have an answer either...doctor had no answer.

Wish you well.
