sushiboy: (SB?) Welcome to the Forum! You will find helpful, knowledgeable people here.
Which specific test did you have?
One measure antibodies - that is, were you exposed?
One measures viral load - that is, so you have chronic Hep C?
IF the antibody test is negative 6 months after exposure - no hepc.
IF it is positive 6 months after exposure, then you need the viral load test.
Once you are exposed, and your body fights off the virus, or has the virus, you will test positive on the antibody test. THAT DOES NOT MEAN YOU HAVE HEP C. It just means you were exposed.
As I said, above, IF positive on the antibody test, THEN you take the Viral Load test [ (HCV RNA PCR (Quant) ]. THAT is the test that tells you whether or not you have hepc.
Again, which test are you gibing the scores for? It should be on the Lab Report.
Again, welcome and good luck.
