well its been a long 14 months, went to the e.r. for kidney and shoulder pains,dia- with hcc/liver cancer and and a blood clot that was gonna kill me first.told i had three months to live, this was in houston, decided to go back home to fl to fish until i died,I was told in tx surgery was not possible, thank GOD in fl the doctors said otherwise,so seven months after resection here i am,hince-my nickname blessed so far.my AFP levels were still elavated so four months after surgery a tumor was found on my spine, three weeks radiation and my fingers are crossed hopefully its gone. This was all scary news for my wife and i, and i know i truly am blessed. For all you folks out there that may think interferon is to hard to keep doing, please reconsider i gave up on it in three months back in 95 and if i had the choice today i would quit my job,or move into a cave whatever it takes!!!!hep c is nothing to play with.Well i guess for my question it would be is there anyone else out there still surviving after a year or so? i would love to hear from you, everyone else please stay tuff! and stick with the treatment no matter how much it sucks!!!           john

Your thread brought more unexpected tears to my eyes. I just read cajun's report on her husband, (tears) and then yours (tears and goosebumps) Thanks both of you for putting my life and it's blessings in perspective. We continue to help each other when we share our stories, thanks so much for the help tonight. You are all in my prayers, (and you have been Cajun)

May your blessings continue!

It's been 15 months since my diagnosis as a Geno 1A Grade 1 Stage 4 with base VL 72 million.  Pulled from tx 2.5 months ago as non-responder when VL went from 2.4 million to 4.4 million during 12 weeks of full dosage tx.

AFP last month showed mid-normal and never heard the results from the ultra-sound.

Like yourself, I'm still hanging tough and living life. Although it seems like there's signs HCV may be flaring up active again.
