Finally "Good News"

Ive havnt been  posting to the fourm lately or even reading any posts...just so busy ...the good  news is i just got a new job and its full time permanent and i start monday..the money is not what i was getting at my former place,$21  but hey..$.12.00/hr will keep me from sleeping under bridges...ill tell you all tho...losing your job is no fun...and while on TX its a nitemare...all the stress and worry added on top of it all...the lawyers..the meds...worrying about if i was goin to get my severance...my employment insurance...now ive got and added worry ...my new employer will notice ill be taking one day a month for my PCR tests..(3 to 4 hours) in the mornings....this dont look good just starting a new job...i could just continue on coleccting EI...but heres another problem...here in canada you have to use up your severance before collecting the IE..after you use up the weeks of severance they give you...you then can collect the full IE payments..its extended  i get to collect my EI ant the severance legally, but i have to use up the 28 weeks first...what a ripp off.......so im forced to work while on TX ,just to keep my severance in my RSP fund

if i had my time back i woulld have gone on disability..but i was doing ok at my last job..i wasnt getting really tired..a little..not much...it was doable...

and i though life was spose to be fun

That sux.  There was something on the news about a month ago stating that one of the up and coming job markets was plumbing.  What works for us is that we also have a landscaping company, hardscapes, walls and paver patios and driveways but when we do a gas line or water line we usually get the fix up of the yard too, so it works out.  Did you check out craigs list in your area?   I wish ya luck!!

We have same problems in Chicago.  I belong to a local here but their are 400 journeyman out of work. Last year was very slow around here and this year has been even worse. I am a licensed journeyman plumber. I am cerified to do gas lines. I have been in plumbing 19 yrs. I can pass a drug test and i do have a valid drivers license. I have applied to several companies across the USA and overseas. My hall tells me the same thing when i call. They don't have anything .

Are you an apprentice, journeymen or a master plumber?  Are you certified to do gas lines?  We are in the Pittsburgh area and have a plumbing company and a very good friend also has a plumbing company and the hardest part about finding employees is (now I'm talking about this area) most people don't have a drivers license and can't pass a drug test.  Did you check any of the union halls?

Rocker, glad you are looking forward to a new job

Wishing you all the best,

I feel your pain with the job thing. I have been out of work about 5 months and trying to find another one is a major challenge. I am a plumber and you would think i could just go out and get one but with the economy so bad. I can't find work. I do get a small job here and their but i can't get a 40 hr a week job.

I figure they're more worried about increasing the odds than we are because of the bajillions they are spending on the study and how much they want it to succeed. If they say 7 to 9 they mean it. I do usually try for 8 but I don't worry about it. :)

According to my trial nurse the boceprevir needs to be taken every 7 to 9 hours. I have been doing this somewaht fluidly since the beginning. I take my first pills somewhere between 7 and 8, then 3 and 4, and then almost always at 11 (unless I sleep through my pill wake-up alarm, which I have done). I don't think you need to worry so much about it.

E.I is short for employment insurance...the person who hired me said i was one lucky man...the bonus is its closer to where i live...its just 30 minutes away ,and thats by local transit...if i had a car id be there in 15 min or less..also they stop ealy on fridays..i get of at 2 pm...but i start at 6;30 am...still get my 40 hours too...thats amazing...ill be .work 6;30am till 3 pm mon- thur...and off at 2pm on friday...ill be home by 3;30 pm every day...my other job took me almost 3 hours a day traveling time...this new job will be taking me one hour a day..and he mentioned overtime too...another concern now to is my pill taking scedudle will be disrupted...ive been taking the BOC   at 7 am  and 3 pm ..if i start at work at 630 am,this means ill have to sneak the BOC in while im at work,or i could change my scedulae by 3o min...and take the BOC at 630am and 2;30 pm...im afraid to change the scedule....DECISIONS....it dont look good that my emplyer sees me popping pills at work either...its a never ending batle

Oh, my God, Rocker, that's wonderful news.

I expect that a paycheck beats EI (whatever that is) any day of the week.

Tell us about the new job once you get started.
