I must say before I continue... I am a hypochondriac... I have all my life suffered of this.... I have always suffered of the following: eczema, allergies, some sort of hives (not so itchy) gerd... well the thing is I moved from my town, which was a huge stress to me.. and since I moved my excema has come back, almost instantly after i moved (this was about 1 month post exposure with the patient).. i have been itchy sometimes, and know i notice that my hands becme really red when I have them from my waist down.... as soon as i raise them, they come back to normal color.... what do you all think? stress?? risk???

well, I must say one thing.  As a dentist, I truly believe you are diligent when it comes to sterilization.  I and I believe I speak for a few others, have always worried about re-infection from dental tools.  As Babs stated in post above, you should seek help for your mental anguish, you defintely need some relief.  Chances of you becoming infected are slim. Your symptoms are not typical of acute HCV and only 20%–30% of those newly infected with HCV experience any symptoms at all.  For peace of mind go get screened and by all means seek professional help for your health anxiety.

Get checked. Hopefully, it's nothing. Meanwhile, I hope you will be careful enough not to pass anything to your other patients.
Good luck!

a self acknowledged hypochondriac should get professional mental health assistance. it can make your life miserable and is quite treatable. while you are getting this help routine screening for bloodborne diseases in your profession is probably a good idea. good luck, babs
