Just checking in to see who is around tonight

Just checking to see who all is around tonight.   I am so glad its Friday....  What a week.  but I made it thru again.  My doctor cancelled my appt yesterday, so no news on the colonscopy or bloodtests yet.   Tried to reschedule it for a week from now, but I managed to get in on Tuesday afternoon.   Of course I did not know they called to leave a message that they cancelled it yesterday, and needed a new appt.. and went to dr at scheduled time,  so wasted my time on that one.   Oh well.   I updated my picture so everyone can see what I look like now, during treatment, and after losing 97 lbs, and most of my hair.. LOL

We will have to plan it again another time.  I was not feeling too well saturday, after waking up at 2 am and being up till about 7.. so ....  I was looking forward to it as well,   I only have like 6 or 8 more shots.. depending on how many he has me do  48 or 52 since he keeps using the 12 month marker.

Well its monday at 5:45 am, and  I am up already and do not go to work till 9 am.  Well I hope you have a great day, and we will do it again.

Yah that is my concern too of gaining it back .   But I will keep my portions down.. as I do not want to gain it back, thats for sure.     I have not been down to this size in years.  Only a few more weeks left, and ready to start getting back to normal

I think you look pretty, nice high cheekbones too. I looked like Vincent Price laying in his mausoleum during my treatment. But if you've lost 97lb??!! be very careful coming off the drugs, because there can really be a rebound effect as far as weight gain is concerned. Food starts tasting reeeeeaaaaallllll GOOD after the drugs leave your system. Beer tastes really good too ;-) So try to plan for that and have a strong system in place to keep you from blowing back up after you stop. Take care and here's to your SVR!

I think you become adjusted to how you feel during the anemia.   It was the rapid fall to a low level so quickly that made me feel so bad, but I do feel like I had more energy as time went by.

Dr hasn't yet put me on procrit.  I'm guessing that will happen soon.  Glad you're almost through.  This tx definitely does put a change in the lifestyle.

Hope your fatigue gets better asap.  Does fatigue typically get worse as treatment goes on?

I'm going out to walk the dog.  Crazy english bulldog.

Thank you.. . I feel so much better having some clothes that fit, and my hair a bit more in place than it has been for a while now.  I am hanging in there at work.. Got to.. cannot afford time off without pay, will be glad when I have no more copays for all the meds and appts with 3 doctors, sometimes 4 when I have to go to dermatologist with my rash that likes to move.  But it comes and goes.  Some times it drives me nuts, cannot not sleep for the scratching, wake up all raw and bleeding.   Then it goes away.. I guess the trick is to not stopping with the Eucerin, after the itchy goes away.. keep putting it on,   otherwise it comes back.   I am starting to eat a bit more some days, but so far I have not seen the scale move up.. Still going down.   I go to dr next week to discuss the polyps he found and sent off,  and all the blood tests he did last month.    I should only have 6 shots left.  Nearing the end soon.. unless he makes me do 52 weeks.. I am hoping not.. I could use the extra cash... It will be almost XMas again, and thats when I started 12/22.   I ususally have my shopping done by the end of Oct,   This year I have no money.
How are you doing ?  How is Nick holding up ?   I know you dealing with this is very painful for you, and Nick.   My nephew is named Nick too, he is a couple years younger though, well he just found out he may be a Daddy.    He just turned 19 in July.     Kids, I swear... LOL   I hope Nick starts to fill a bit better, or they find a way to really get rid of this forever.    Hugs,   Dana

has your doctor put you on Procrit or another resucue drug yet ?  If not you need to call him.  I just didn shot 42 / 48 last night and HGB has been about 10 since week 4, and was down to 8.3 at one point,   Glad the sides have not been too hard for you.  I will be glad to be done, ready to start getting back to normal, and getting on with daily tasks, that I have not been able to do, without feeling the fatigue all the time.

Hi all,
I'm inspired by all of you.  I'm a first time poster, but been monitoring on/off.
Started tx in June.  Full dose started in Aug.  I've taken 15 total shots/6 full dose.  Not feeling too bad too often. but hemoglobin is now 9.2 and of course blood counts are all low.  Hopefully that won't be an issue.

Hmm, I have heard some people have complications with their thyroid, has anyone looked at your thyroid levels?
Or maybe better advice.- don't worry and be happy as the pounds melt away, and don't forget to eat ice cream.

Sounds like a Helen Ready said it best… Ok, I’m from Mars here at the moment and it is tormenting to find the words. lol! You look just fine dperry!

Last month my Doc was concerned over the weight loss too.  I said, I did not lose this overnite, where have you been ?   ( that 2nd part was to myself of course ).  But he ran a bunch of tests including a C-19 for tumor marker, and my insurance denied it.  says its experimental.  Did a colonoscopy and found 3 polyps, and havent discussed the biopsy yet.  But all the tests looked fine.  So he may reduce my Riba when I see him next week, as now I am under 170 lbs, and he told me early on, that IF  I got down to 170 he would need to adjust my riba, but did not feel that I could possibly do that.  Well now we will see what he says.

That weight of 85 was 14 years ago.. they put me on high calorie diet and I blew up..   At one point was up to about 274, and then the diabetes started.   But now I am 161, and still losing.     If I had the skin cut off , I would probably be down to 110.  LOL

I read somewhere that there is possible necrosis from the shots that have to be surgically repaired. So I keep using my lower abd. more than other places. LOL.  I saw someone I don't like to run into last week and it was too cool that they didn't recognize me.It's like a cloak of invisibility. My goodness that weight loose of yours seems dangetously low. I have been loosing about a lb. a week and 72 weeks of tx would leave me perfect.

I never thought I would ever cut my hair so short.  I had thick locks of curly hair.  Now its grown in all drab and gray in most places and an icky color.   Will be glad when I can have the go ahead to color it.   I look like a totally different person.  People I have known my whole life did not recognize me.
If my father had not seen while going thru treatment, I do not think he would realize it was me either, if he ran to me in public.   I am glad to have lost the weight though.  Problem is , I do not want to gain an ounce of it back.  But after doing treatment 14 years ago, going from 147 to 85 on treatment,    after tx, I blew up like a balloon, and became diabetic,   Now that is not a problem, sugar is completely normal.    But there is no way I will ever get back up to where I got .  I just gotta do something about this excess skin....Anyone know a good surgeon personally ???? LOL just kidding..   I will call TGH when ready to do it and see if I can donate my skin to burn unit.  Maybe can get it done free.   But I am pinching myself on things all the time.. the excess skin that is., and getting bruises all over the place.
