Sorry 'bout the diabetes. A lot of us on this forum have it as well as hcv. What sort of pills are you taking? What kind of numbers are you runnning on your A1c as well as on your daily blood tests? The reason why I ask is that doctors often under-treat diabetes, and you don't want that.
There's a diabetes forum on MedHelp, but I've been using alt.suppport.diabetes (a google group) for several years, and they're terrific. There's also misc.health.diabetes, but it has pretty much the same posts as the previous. The ADA (American Diabetes Association) is, in my opinion, not as up to date as the American Assn. of Clinical Endocrinologists or the Juvenile Diabetes Assn - they're both cutting edge in their point of view, whereas the ADA tends to think we're not going to go to the trouble of caring for ourselves properly so their standards are rather low. I really recommend checking all these web sites out, because diabetes is a serious disease. OTOH, with treatment for hcv, your diabetes may possibly disappear. Time will tell. Keep us posted, and good luck.
Welcome - and if you need to know something - just toss it out there - someone will get to you.
This place may not have ALL the answers - but we have a good attitude - and we have some really informed people who have been there and can put you on the right path.
Good luck with both diseases.
Be careful if you go on Pegylated Interferon Alpha 2a (Pegasys or other name brands) because I do understand that it can excaberate the Diabetes).
