VX 950 , Whats up ?

Hi ya-all, hope all is well!
My question, What's the final word on VX 950 ? Does it really work with ribivirin, and interferon ?
I've treated Hep C for 4 yrs straight without a break, and to no avail.= {Genotype 1, Non-responder}. It's been a "very hard ride"!
Anyway, are any VX 950 trials being still being  conducted, and if so, where ?
My viral load topped 100 million 3 yrs ago , and my liver function tests aren't looking well at all, so any info. you could reply with would be "greatly appreciated" !
Also any alternative treatment ideas that show promise would be appreciated as well!
Thanks again, get well, and stay well, Chrisam7

I posted to you question on the med side as well and the answer to the VX-950 question is that YES it's still going on and it's looking pretty good. (especially according to Vertex). I saw a recent preso to some investors and they indicated that they were trying to build a company around the VX-950 (Telaprivar) drug... they said it exactly that way too and not the other way around.

I'm on the phase II of the Prove 3 study for relapsers and non-responders and have hope that it will work for me as I've gone to a lot of trouble and expense just to get on the study and travel weekly to meet the schedule they've given me so I'm betting on the best results and hopeful that I will make the 6 week cut (based on the 4 week results) and be able to continue in the study. I feel very sorry for Susan400 who has tried so very hard to do everything asked to beat the virus and now not allowed to continue...

Phase III will start in the 4th quarter and the recruitment may be started now, not sure? This will be primarily targeted at determining the protocol which they have pretty much decided is going to be a 24 week (12 weeks all 3 VX/Riba/Int and 12 weeks Riba/Int only) program. But treatment naive people will get the preference in this one as this is the final hurdle, in terms of clinical trials, for a final from the FDA to go forward. The 'fast track' for FDA is 3 to 5 years as I understand it... (yep seems like a really long time but that is what is being stated at this point).

Hope that helps... -hope-
