Love Stinks!

Skunk love that is!!!! This is their mating season so watch out...they will throw themselves in front of oncoming traffic to catch up with their latest love interest!
Also, February and March are mating season for striped skunks.  That means "skunk smell" will be at its peak. According to The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the stinky problem occurs when the male tries to court the female who may not be "in the mood."  Unlike the sweet smelling gifts of perfume and flowers, the aroma generated when female skunks spray their rejected suitors is THAT smell that makes them so disliked by people.  Luckily, skunk romance only lasts a short time and the noxious odors will soon waft away.
Word to the wise: If you hit a skunk, don't try to recusitate it by offering mouth to mouth or cpr...this is the mating season and we don't have a skunk shortage at this time. Be cool, back away slowly and drive away. Hope this helps...

I sure hope not. Sounds like you don't need anymore skunks around town than you already have!  lol  I am glad you stayed in your car this past time....crazy lady!

If you don't think that little dog was dirty then why was I having to give her a bath each time she got sprayed? Silly pooch!
In my part of the state, we never know what's skunk smell and what's transporting ag.

I have a brother and sister live in San Diego...I was with sis once when we hit a skunk...but for her and her hubby...it seems like a pretty common occurrence around the canyons.

Thanks for making Elaine feel better. I sure was wondering how she hit skunks so often. At least Elaine learned her  lessen about mouth to mouth recessation.  Geez,  how many people hit skunks 3 times??? Must me a record we could put in the world records!  

Oh no Elaine, you are NOT going to play dating game with skunks now are you?  I can see it now!  LOL  You may need a skunk suit to protect you from the smell.....

Yes it definitely sounds like your little terrier thought she was pretty foxy to the skunks, but they thought otherwise it seems.
Poor little dog, she's not dirty, just driven by her desires for pepe la phew!
