PAIN IN LIVER ????

I WENT TO E ROOM THE OTHER NITE, BLOOD PRES. REALLY HIGH AND PAIN IN MY CHEST....AFTER A COUPLE OF HOURS THE DOC TELLS  ME, NO HEART ATTACK, BUT MY LIVER EMZYMES WERE ELEVETED AND SO THE PAIN WAS PROBABLY FROM THERE....I DID NOT KNOW THAT YOU LIVER HAD NERVES OR EMITTED PAIN, SOMEONE TELL ME!!!!  OH BY THE WAY, HE SAID MY LEVELS WERE AROUND 95 AND 193 I THINK THAT IS WHAT HE SAID, ALZ...ALTS  ..I AM A LITTLE UNLEARNED ABOUT THIS SITUTATION.  WAS HE TELLIN ME THE TRUTH OF JUST B/S ING ME.. ANY INFO WILL HELP....BTW  , I HAVE HCV, HBV, AND CRYOGLOBULEMIA, IF THIS MATTERS ANY, THANKS.... RUSTY

If you have HCV and HBV then you can be sure that is why your liver enzymes are so elevated.  I don't know anything about your situation but although technically there aren't really any nerves that would feel pain in your liver,many people do complain about upper right quandrant pain.

You should follow up with a heptologist at least to have a biopsy and see where your degree of liver damage has progressed to.  It's not the kind of disease you can pretend doesn't exist just because you don't see any tremendous signs of it.  Unfortunately, that generally comes very late in the disease when the liver is completely damged and has a lot of fibrosis or even then cirrhosis.

Dont bury you head in the sand on this. They call the disease the silent killer for a reason.

did you stop drinking? when your liver is shrinking there can be pain in the area around it...i had pain when my liver was shrinking....billy

From what I understand, the liver itself doesn't emit pain but the capsule that surrounds the liver can when it is irritated. My "liver" pain was more of a dull ache that would come and go. However, gall bladder issues and panic attacks can cause intense pain. I've had both and ended up in the ER with the panic issues.Pancreatitis too can cause extreme pain so with so many possibilities it'd be good to have some of these checked out as well.
