Almost sounds like a scam...make us sick first with the drugs in the sixties them sell us drugs later to make us better and make a profit
The ironic thing is,the drugs we did in our party days, we did them to get high and feel good mentally and emotionally about ourselves, but they ended up killing us physically and mentally....but the TX drugs we do now, they make us feel physically and mentally sick and theyend up not killing us but saving us....
Yes it is very ironic that you end up having syringes everywhere in the house isn't it? I often found it quite disconcerting myself the whole concept made it very hard to get away from the bigger issues in my life sometimes.
I totally get you on that fact.
Don't worry hepC doesn't mean your demise - just a really crappy treatment but it can save your life......even if it's not very much fun it works!
To me the more ironic thing is how you would go about getting rid of it - self injection of powerful drugs. There is some justice in the world, I suppose. My story is not too different from yours. There were nights during treatment when I wondered if there were two loaded syringes (not just the one Interferon) on the night table, with the second one being loaded with what got me there in the first place. I asked myself which one I would choose first.....
Hep C will not play a role in your demise unless you let it. There are many drugs in various states of trials that will surely cure almost everyone. So hang in there and don't give up.
I fought as hard as I could most of my adult life and I finally beat it, and so can you with much less effort now that the protease inhibitors and polymerase inhibitors are about to become generally available (within 2 years).
Good luck.
