Thank you. I am feeling better today as far as nausea goes.. I had none. so thats a plus. I did go to work today, but I swear, I think its time to consider that short term disability pay that I have. As the customers are really starting to get to me, and I feel like its coming out in my calls sometimes. So I guess I will call the company nurse in our corp office and see what I have to do to get this started. Its not far to take it out on my coworkers or customers. LOL Now tonight I have a rash on my roof of my mouth. I have had this denture since Jan 2, and I have gotten a couple of little blisters here and there, in my mouth, but my roof is completely covered with them tonight.. I don't get it.. alergic to adhesive causing this maybe ? or just another sx to mark down ?
Hubby doing fine. He has rough day on Saturdays and feeling the fatigue during the week and dry skin driving him nuts, works outdoors so he always had skin issues but now they are worse. But really he is doing good.
We both have been lucky it could be alot worse.
Thanks for asking!
sorry to hear you were sick. i hope things improve and that you will be feeling better before you birthday comes! actually, i just hope you feel better no matter what!
sorry you are having such a tough time.
sometimes when i can't sleep because of sides (anxious, wakeful, body achy, i get up and do some yoga, i am not the most bendy person. but recently took up yoga, before my dx of hep c. it came in handy. stretching when i hurt or feel anxious seems to help. it seems to help with sleeplessness a few minutes of stretching puts me right to sleep.
Sounds so much like what I have! Really bothered me this weekend, but my shot night is Friday. I can't help but think it's the peg-intron. Myown had c/o hip pain but when I asked her to describe it, she said she didn't get it anymore.
I use a hot pack, the kind you heat in the microwave to help with the pain. Finding a comfortable position in bed is hard. Oh well, could be 10 time worse. I just find it amazing how so many symptoms are the same for different people, but not listed anywhere. Thanks for responding. Hubby's pain under control?

Yah you are probably right about the other side effects, cuz I did feel like do do all weekend.
Lady E,
Just came back from the dentist, and tried to do like you said, and tell them how unhappy I was with the final product, and how I felt misled about the cost, and why they did not get it predetermined like I asked on 2 occasions. But it did no good. they adjusted it so it would fit better, and told me to come back in 2 wks and they will send it off for a final relign. But at this point, I doubt I will go back to this dentist. In fact I think I will file a complaint about the dental assistant. Or I could have a customer one made like I want it to look for another 1365.00. what are they thinking ??? That I can afford to pay 2000, and then turn around and pay another 1365.00 ?? I don't know what they are smoking.. but I could use some.. LOL
Pale complexion is a sign of anemia too so I wouldn't get in a panic about your color vis-
I am so sorry you going through this right now, I hope you feel better soon!
Mike- Wow thats terrible that procrit has those sx, similar to tx drugs as well. It must be like a double whammie!
I treated for a long and I needed Procrit (I used Epogen but it's the same drug) throughout. The only side that I attribute to Epogen was extreme bone pain. I have never been absolutely sure that the Epogen caused my leg pain but I cannot think of anything else that could have. Mike
I think (after thinking about it) that you are experiencing more likely the shot sides rather than Procrit sides.
I've just never heard of anyone being nauseus because of it ever.
But that SURE is a side on interferon.
I hope your mind is at ease and you are feeling better.
OH!!! I just sent you an email and then came and read this. I've been too busy and not reading the forum much in the past few days & I didn't know you had been feeling so crappy and I'm sorry for not mentioning it.
I was the same way in a store in the first 3-4 months of tx, but I'm feeling physically better lately
ie: not crashing & burning like I used to. Hopefully it'll get better for you too..especially with the addition of Procrit.
I'm wondering if you had something preexisting that made you sick seeing as how you didn't feel good this weekend.
There's alot of that stomach flu going around too.
Hope you feel better real soon sweetie!!
*Hugs from the north*

P.S. We are getting a BIG STORM FINALLY on Wednesday! Woo-hoo!
The pale thing.. I have had since the amenia set in a few weeks back. I have not had any color since then.
I had the high blood pressure sx from procrit, just make sure you keep an eye out for your blood preesure or skipping heart beats.....
Sorry that you continue to have a rough time. Just can't help but feel bad for you. Hang in there. Have you talked to your supervisor yet about leave?

You poor thing!
You seem to have such strong reactions to so much of this sh**. You must be very sensitive.
I haven't taken procrit yet but I have no doubt that's gonna change. I see the Dr. Wednesday. I've been feeling worse as the weeks go on (8 weeks, now, very weak, brathless, trembly, you know the drill.)
Hang in there.
Mike, I have the same bone pain down the leg, not all the time but when I do get it, brings tear to my eyes.
I am on tx but no procrit, it must be the IFN. I never had it before in my life. When I ask the doc he says never heard of that, but I checked with drug company and they said yes does happen.
Lady E - They say we are getting at least a foot of snow, time to break out the snowmobiles ;-)
Have not driven them yet this year, woo hoo!!!!
Where is your leg pain located? I am on procrit but I didn't tie it to my leg pain. Can you decribe location and sensation of your pain?
Bug
Mine usually (but not always) starts at the hip and goes right down one leg (usually the left though sometimes both). Its deep bone pain, not siatic, I've had that.
It hurts to even lay on my stomach to sleep, the hip part. The only thing that helps believe it or not is to keep moving, dont know if its the movement or the distraction ;-)
Like I said I dont get it all the time, maybe 2 to 3 days per week. I save my tylenol for when it hits.
I really feel for people who live with daily pain.
Thank you. I googled it, and I guess it could be a side effect. But I feel nausea sometimes just from the other side effects of treatment., so could be that too.
See:http://www.procrit.com/shared/safety.jsp
While on PROCRIT therapy, if you suddenly feel very tired or become very pale or dizzy, tell your doctor right away because it may be a sign of a very rare but serious condition.
In studies, the most common side effects included fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, edema (swelling), shortness of breath, high blood pressure, headache, joint pain, tingling, and upper respiratory infection.
Mike
Procrit has a side effect profile like every drug. These drugs hit all of us differently. You might want to google "Procrit" and read the side effect profile from the manufacturer's or another health site. Definitely notify both your treatint doctor and hematologist.
All the best,
-- Jim
I guess really no way of knowing if it was the Procrit or not. I was sick most of the weekend. I got up Saturday feeling pretty good, then I started getting the cold feeling and stayed that way most of the day. I took a nice hot bath, and then went back to bed. I later had a fever of 102. but I took some tylenol and it finally broke. I seem to have a bit of an infection in my mouth. I ate some popcorn one day, and think I got part of a cornel shell caught in my gum. I used the water pick this morning and I think I got it out. feels better already. I just hope the procrit starts working sooner than later. We were supposed to go do our monthly grocery shopping at the commissary yesterday, but I had no energy. Everytime we go, I can only make it half way through, without feeling like I am gonna pass out. So we have to wait 2 wks now to go, and hopefully by then I should be feeling better.
That's horrible!!!!!!!! I never ever had one twinge of anything from taking the Procrit at all. Twice a week for quite a while and I tolerated it well.
Are you SURE it was the Procrit that caused this?
Once your hemo starts to rise you will be so MUCH better you won't believe it. I mean it...just hang in there and make it through this tough time and the rest of treatment will be a piece of cake, you'll see.
