blood work results

blood work shows:
WBC  2.7
RBC  4.12
Absolute neutrophils  689
ALT 32
AST 33
all in all, everything was in the normal range except WBC and absolute neutrophils, and doctor said even though they were low, it was Okay.
The PCR Quantitative Result was not back from lab.
Not sure if I like this doctor (my other doctor vanished from their practice and left me hanging); this doctor also said he would have ordered a biopsy -- prior doctor in this firm ordered the Fibrospect testing out of San Diego.  Doctor that read results today is very "full" of himself. TOld me everyone is recommended to him and he needed to be cloned.

jeez!

And I just posted my congrats that things seemed to have worked out!

Well, maybe you have to give this new doctor/patient relationship a chance.  You're (understandably) upset, and maybe he's feeling pressured by having to catch up with extra cases.

I know that's not your problem.  I'm just trying to advise patience before you jump to conclusions.

He is the head Dr., right?  Ya would think that implies advanced credentials.

Hang in there.

He actually said he should be cloned???  How pompous!!  Are you going to stick with him or look around for a new one?

You should always ask him if you're talking to the real Dr. 'x' or 'mini-me'.

I had a Dr. like that that I mentioned in a thread here a few months back. He was a complete ass. 1 year of alt/ast getting higher and higher and he never even thought to test for hep-c. He closed up shop with no forwarding address so I went to another doc and he picked up on the HCV right away. My new doc ( present PCP ) called me after my first blood test, ( I could not get the records from the old doc ) and told me I needed to come in for some more tests. I blew it off for a while till they called me BACK and said, 'YOU NEED TO COME IN FOR MORE TESTS and basically just forced an appointment on me.'

My primary care physician and my liver doc are both Indian trained and I really really like their approach/style to patient care/relationships. Very calm and not an arrogant bone in either one of 'em. Nicest docs I've ever had. Two of the nicest PEOPLE I've ever met, doctor or otherwise.

My hep doctor is also Indian trained, and did her residency here.  She's a doll.  No 10 minute appointments for her; she'll give an hour or more if necessary.  The NP, who's from somewhere like Jamaica or Barbados, is equally well-informed and attentive.  I'm on Kaiser, and it seems that the PCP's there are overworked and stressed, but once you get to specialists it's first-class all the way.
