I only made one mistake. Coming down I 10 to I 95 I went south instead of north. I realized what I did by the next exit though. My biggest fear was hitting the big cities during rush hours because I get confused easily when having to deal with a lot of choices at once.
That Riba does work good at keeping a person awake. Being sleepy wasn't a problem... but boy was my tail bone screaming at me the last 3 hours of the return trip.
I was going to suggest you leave yourself a note on the dashboard, just in case you forgot where you were off to. Sounds like you made do without it.
Glad to hear you had a good trip. Nothing like a road trip to clear out your mind. Or cloud it, one or the other.
I took a road trip to Mesa Az from Denver 2 weeks ago in a moving truck and a had a great time. I took my Ribo 6 hours into the trip thinking it would make me tired. Wrong. I put on my head phones and was wired. I drove for the next 7 hours stopping only to get gas and pee. My stepson was like "are you ok" ? I was yea get in lets go.
Enjoy your time with the kids until they start school.
Great to see you back!
Wow, maybe I could have done a long haul like that if I'd tried but always figured I couldn't without falling asleep at the wheel.
I remember when Headshop set out on a long road trip and some of us, including me, were worried.
And now you've got the kids all day until they start school?
Kudos to you, Diane.

I made it. I have always loved long drives by myself... gives me lots of time to clear my head of the millions of thoughts, but I wasn't sure if my fatigue would make it harder on me. I was fine as long as I was sitting.
Coming back was fine too except for the rainstorm around Jacksonville, couldn't drive faster than 35 on the interstate because couldn't see. We got home at 11:00 PM. The couch was my home yesterday... and now life goes on.
Diane
Have a safe trip Diane, that's a long drive, are you the driver?
Take Care - Dave
Best of luck on the long drive.
Too bad they couldn't have flown back by themselves. That way, you would have only had to drive to the airport to pick them up. The airline attendants are pretty good at keeping an eye on kids who travel without adults.
Oh, well, you're probably at your sister's by now, so take a much deserved rest and don't forget to take your meds.
Best wishes for the return trip.
