Jacob... thank you very much. I hope I will be able to support you when/if you decide to treat.
Brent.... very interesting, that would mean that the MRE is a new device. Sounds even more promising then, as I have heard a lot of mixed comments on the FibroScan.
Eric... That would be a great alternative. I am eager to hear how much you liver has improved.
Gator ... bless you girl for posting this wonderful information. Love ya.
It looks like the MRE uses magnetic rather than ultrasonic for imaging. So, I presume that FibroScan and MRE are completely different, FWIW. It looks very interesting - Brent
FibroScan® machine uses the latest technology for diagnosing liver damage thru ultrasound elastography to measure liver stiffness
it does sound like the same thing...it is very interesting to see how it works.
Although I'm not on treatment yet, and don't plan to for some time - after reading here, I'm sure your liver is not only getting a break during treatment but improving. I'm glad you are here and the input you provide. Hoping your sx are light, as well of all of you on treatment. Hang in there!
I was stage 3 at my last biopsy before starting the Telaprevir trial. I would like to know how much I have improved since then, but not so curious that I would do an invasive biopsy.
I am going to see if I can have one done without traveling back to NY
No idea, I was just trying to find out what it is exactly, since I have not had a biopsy, I only know that I don't have cirrhosis and varices etc. But I have no idea what state my liver is in. At least I have been living very healthy for many years, so I'm pretty sure my liver has had a big break.
Does anyone know if MRE and Fibroscan are one and the same?
oh thanks... Just as Kristina, I am thrilled to see some geno 2 & 3 studies separating them.
Thanks for pointing this out. The studies on the SVR for the different G-types was interesting too. There finally seems to be some separation of the G2's and G3's!!!!
I don't always manage to trawl Janice&Friends so it was great that you pointed out the link.
